The Mystère 20 was a ten-passenger twin-engine aircraft, able to fly at cruising speed of Mach 0.8. It completed its maiden flight on May 4, 1963.
Dassault packed this aircraft with the technical solutions it had tried and tested in military applications. In particular, these included the three-axis servo controls, fine-tuned aerodynamics using the day’s state-of-the-art systems, and “conical wing cambers”.
Plans got underway to extrapolate the Falcon 20 into 30-passenger and 40-passenger versions to serve secondary commercial destinations. A mid-range sea patrol aircraft was derived from the Falcon 20 G, renamed HU-25 A Guardian, and used by American coastguards. A total of 477 Falcon 20s
and 38 Falcon 200s have been built.
This custom project utilizes a partial horizontal tail stabilizer from a retired Falcon 20 aircraft. Between the concept, design, fabrication, and assembly, over 1000+ hours was needed to complete this piece. The Falcon 20 table is finished with custom candy apple red powder-coating with chrome-plated leading and trailing edges. Over 200 feet of wiring was utilized to enable the dynamic low-voltage LED lighting environment. Hundreds of stainless steel button head screws are strategically placed, not only for strength, but for aesthetic appeal. The completely original table support system evokes the elegance of an extended landing gear system. Table dimensions - 143" wide x 77" deep x 39" high.
